Super Eliminator SE 100
Super Eliminator is an AHDRA sportsman class. The ET index is 10.9 seconds in the quarter mile. In this class anything goes. The only exception is that if you go faster than 10.9 seconds in the quarter mile , during an elimination round, you will have to pack up and go home. "Breaking-Out" which means running an ET that is under the index is a disqualification. The index is the limiting factor in this class, and it is the same factor in all of the sportsman classes.
It is very difficult to build a motorcycle that will run the same quarter mile ET every time. It is especially difficult if you are taking the motorcycle to different climates, elevations, and extreme conditions than those where the motorcycle was built. The sportsman classes are a tuners nightmare. The rider needs the bike to perform but it is also helpful to have the motorcycle tuned to run within two tenths of the index. A competitive racer would prefer the motorcycle to be faster than the index so that they can "sandbag" at the end of the track. That is what I will be doing for the rest of the season.
This is a new class for me to compete in. Coming into this class and only testing the motorcycle twice made my first race very difficult. Now that we know what the motorcycle is capable of It will be easier to adjust.
